It is a network that allows users to swap compliments by participating in anonymous quizzes. Tbh has been in App Store’s top ten for weeks. Facebook claimed it has common objectives with the social app, like helping people to communicate socially and also in the building of the community.

Tbh is said to have launched in September, and since then has had over 2 million downloads in its first month in the App Store, according to data from App Annie. Since the launching of the App, it has reached 5 million users and the users have collectively exchanged more than 1 billion messages.

The app which is centered around emoji-filled quizzes that ask users to pick which friends has the best smile or the world’s best party planner. The network keeps identities of those that choose others secret but they can see their gender and grade level.
It seems facebook is planning of keeping the app as a standalone service, rather than integrating it into the social network. As time goes on facebook will keep updating the app to suit what users want.
Facebook’s move to acquire tbh is not a much surprise as facebook has historically struggled to appeal to teens. Some of its products targeted to teens has failed anyway.

With the acquisition of tbh and its over 5 million teenage users, facebook seems to be getting what it wants in engaging the youths in one of its products.
